PACENation Summit 2019

They say everything is bigger in Texas and this year’s PACENation Summit was no exception. The Greenworks team has just returned from Austin, where we were joined by 400 people representing 35 states across the United States. Having been present at the creation of this industry and remembering the early days when the entire marketplace could fit around a conference table, it was personally very fulfilling for me to see how far we have come.

The Summit gathered leaders from state and local governments, non-profits, investment funds, rating agencies, and origination companies. Our team was well represented, speaking on several panels on topics on which we’ve become experts – developing PACE programs and gaining lender consent. I had a wonderful time speaking on the first-ever PACENation panel on inclusiveness and diversity, where I was able to speak with great pride about what we’ve built at Greenworks Lending, while noting the long road we must continue to travel as it comes to building a diverse and inclusive team, channel partners, and customer base.

A couple of other highlights including toasting PACENation’s outgoing Executive Director, David Gabrielson, at the home of Charlene Heydinger, the fearless leader of the TX PACE program (and welcoming Colin Bishopp into the role). We also hosted our 3rd annual PACE administrators dinner for all of our state and local partners, without whom our ability to bring smart financing solutions to commercial building owners would be impossible. It was a real treat for us to toast the hard work and legislative success we’ve seen over the past year in Alaska, Delaware, Illinois, Nevada, New York, and Pennsylvania. As the industry continues to march forward, Greenworks Lending is proud of our role in its early days and excited for our promising and bright future.
