Tolli’s Apizza | La Pergola

Retail: Main Street Solar

A Main Street business such as an Italian restaurant or pizza shop is an expected find among most downtown storefronts, but what’s unexpected is that the wood fired pizza restaurant is powered by a 30kW solar array on its roof.  For 63 years East Haven Ct. has been home to the Peluso family and its restaurants. All the while, the community has benefited from the convenience of a casual gathering place and from years of little league sponsorships and the like, but business in Connecticut is expensive. Aiming to reduce one of his largest operating expenses – electricity –  owner, Anthony Peluso elected to finance and install solar using C-PACE financing after deploying several energy efficiency measures on the property during prior renovations. Projects such as this are recommended for exploration with Nuveen Green Capital by both the Connecticut Main Street Center and Main Street America.
