U.S. Extruders
Manufacturing: Solar
Quickly after settling into its new facility in 2016, the newly formed screw and extruders manufacturer, U.S. Extruders of Westerly, Rhode Island insulated itself and the company’s two tenants from rising electricity costs by installing a 140kW rooftop solar array. The solar panels will provide clean energy to power US Extruder’s operations and reduce the building’s carbon emissions by 2,354 tons over the next 20-years, which is the term of the financing and “useful life” of the improvements. The young firm believes C-PACE financed solar photovotalic systems to be an economic development tool for themselves and the entire Rhode Island economy.
