Defeo Manufacturing

Manufacturing: Solar with Roof Replacement

Having purchased the property in 2016, Defeo Manufacturing quickly recognized the efficiency of using commercial PACE (C-PACE) financing to replace a failing roof  while tapping the energy savings available through renewable sources, namely solar.  This strategy allowed the firm to maintain cash flow by taking advantage of 15 year financing, plus Nuveen Green Capital and the contractor Ross Solar helped Defeo secure the DECD “Energy on the Line” grant (the first awarded in the State) and a ZREC contract to reduce costs and provide income from the sale of renewable power produced. Ross Solar engineered and placed a 64.7 kW roof mounted solar system projected to produce an output of 80,000 kWh per year.
