Greenworks Lending and Main Street America Align to Provide Capital to Commercial Properties for Energy Improvements
- National private capital provider through state C-PACE programs partners with national Main St. community development organization to inform property owners of special finance tool available for energy saving property enhancements.
- Greenworks Lending is the Nation’s leading C-PACE lender, providing 100% financing for energy saving capital improvements made by commercial properties.
- The Main Street America program works with cities and towns across the country to support local economies and advance community-driven revitalization.
Darien, CT – Greenworks Lending and Main Street America announced a partnership through which the national advocate for revitalization of downtown commercial districts will introduce Greenworks Lending and the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy program, also known as C-PACE, to its membership of towns, cities and development associations.
“C-PACE and Greenworks Lending are resources for the commercial districts we serve,” stated Patrice Frey, President and CEO of the National Main Street Center. “The program helps commercial property owners invest in their businesses and can play a particularly valuable role in the rehabilitation or adaptive reuse of older properties.”
Several recent properties financed by Greenworks Lending through state C-PACE programs across the country exemplify the utility of this financial tool to transform downtown properties. A pizza shop in East Haven, Connecticut installed a 29 kW solar array and new roof; a long-vacant 102 year old warehouse in Madison, Wisconsin is being transformed into an energy efficient boutique hotel on the city’s main strip; and a mixed-use retail and residential property on Maryland’s Eastern Shore has improved its efficiency and updated its curb appeal by replacing 45 year old windows and a similarly aged HVAC system.
“By partnering with Main Street America to introduce C-PACE across the nation we are meeting both of our goals,” suggested Greenworks Lending Co-founder and CEO Jessica Bailey. “Patrice and her organization are working to revitalize communities and energy and sustainability are a big part of that. We can help by providing long-term financing that allows property owners to make energy-saving investments that are smart business decisions, but for which efficient capital has not previously been available.”
